Kerala Police Cyber Crime Wing has registered a case against right-wing commentator TG Mohandas over alleged derogatory remarks made in a YouTube video about women participating in the Jantar Mantar student protest linked to the alleged NEET paper leak.

According to police, the FIR was registered after a complaint alleged that the video contained statements capable of disturbing public order and creating fear among the public.

Alleged Remarks Under Investigation

Police allege that in videos uploaded on Mohandas' YouTube channel, he made controversial remarks about women participating in the Delhi protest and also made comments regarding the handling of demonstrators.

Authorities are investigating whether the statements violated criminal and cyber laws.

FIR Registered by Cyber Crime Wing

The complaint was submitted to the Cyber Crime Police through email on July 29. It was initially entered into the station petition register before a formal FIR was registered.

According to investigators, the videos had been uploaded and circulated on July 24 and July 25, several days before the complaint was filed.

Sections Invoked

Police have booked Mohandas under:

• Section 192 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) – relating to provocation with intent to cause a riot.
• Section 353(1)(b) of the BNS – concerning publication or circulation of false information likely to create fear or disturb public tranquillity.
• Section 66 of the Information Technology Act – dealing with computer-related offences.
• Section 120(o) of the Kerala Police Act – relating to the maintenance of public order.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not announced any further legal action at this stage.

Protest Linked to NEET Paper Leak

The controversy stems from the student protest held at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, where demonstrators demanded action over the alleged NEET paper leak and called for examination reforms.

Police said they are examining whether the content of the videos was intended to intimidate protesters or disturb public peace.
