ABVP Condemns Jantar Mantar Clashes, Demands Panel for Transparent Competitive Exams

The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has condemned the clashes that took place at Jantar Mantar during protests over alleged examination irregularities, calling for the formation of a high-level government panel to strengthen transparency and accountability in competitive examinations.

The student organisation issued the statement amid nationwide protests over the alleged NEET-UG paper leak and ongoing demonstrations in the national capital demanding reforms in the examination system.

ABVP Condemns Violence at Protest Site

In its statement, the ABVP strongly criticised the violence that erupted during the demonstrations, describing the incidents as deliberate attempts by anti-social elements to create chaos.

The organisation said it was deeply concerned over injuries sustained by both students and security personnel during the confrontation at Jantar Mantar.

According to ABVP, peaceful protests should not be disrupted by violence or public disorder.

Calls for High-Level Government Panel

Along with condemning the clashes, the student body urged the government to establish a high-level committee to review the functioning of competitive examinations and recommend reforms.

The organisation said the proposed panel should focus on improving transparency, accountability, and security in national-level entrance examinations to restore students' confidence.

ABVP added that strengthening examination systems is essential to ensuring merit-based and fair recruitment and admissions.

Supports Action Against Exam Irregularities

The organisation reiterated that it stands with students affected by examination irregularities, including the alleged NEET-UG paper leak that led to the cancellation of the examination earlier this year.

ABVP said any compromise in the integrity of competitive examinations undermines the future of students and called for strict action against those responsible for such irregularities.

Protests Continue in Delhi

The statement comes as demonstrations over alleged exam irregularities continue in Delhi, with various student groups and political organisations demanding greater transparency and accountability in the conduct of national entrance examinations.

Security remains tightened around protest sites following recent clashes between demonstrators and police personnel.
