US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has arrested Indian national Harmanveer Singh in California over his alleged involvement in an international drug trafficking network linked to the Canada-based Ravinder Dhanda organised crime group.

Singh was taken into custody in Stockton, California, by officers of the California Highway Patrol as part of a wider crackdown on transnational organised crime.

Arrest Linked to Operation Hard Ball

According to the FBI, Singh's arrest followed Operation Hard Ball, a coordinated international law enforcement operation targeting organised crime networks associated with Lawrence Bishnoi, Jaggu Bhagwanpuria and Ravinder Dhanda.

The operation involved cooperation between authorities in the United States, Canada and Europe to dismantle cross-border criminal organisations involved in drug trafficking and other serious offences.

Charges Filed Against Harmanveer Singh

US authorities said Singh is wanted for his alleged role in a criminal conspiracy involving the distribution, possession and export of controlled substances.

A federal arrest warrant was issued against him on June 23, 2026, by the United States District Court for the Central District of California in Los Angeles. He has been charged with conspiracy to distribute controlled substances, conspiracy to export controlled substances and possession with intent to distribute illegal narcotics.

Dhanda Gang Accused of Cross-Border Drug Smuggling

The FBI alleges that the Ravinder Dhanda Organised Crime Group, based in Vancouver, Canada, smuggled large quantities of cocaine and methamphetamine across the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Investigators believe the organisation supplied narcotics to multiple drug trafficking networks operating throughout North America.

International Crackdown on Organised Crime

Earlier this month, law enforcement agencies from the United States, Canada and several European countries arrested 24 suspects connected to three India-linked organised crime groups. Eleven of those arrests took place in California.

The US Department of Justice has charged a total of 37 individuals as part of Operation Hard Ball, describing the investigation as one of the largest coordinated actions against transnational organised crime networks operating across North America.
