The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is reportedly set to review Team India's injury management system following a series of fitness setbacks ahead of the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka.

The review comes after fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah was ruled out of the series due to a knee injury, adding to India's growing list of unavailable players.

India has been dealing with multiple injury concerns in recent months. Alongside Bumrah, players including Hardik Pandya, Nitish Kumar Reddy, and Harshit Rana have also spent time on the sidelines due to fitness issues.

According to reports, the BCCI is expected to assess the performance of the national team's medical and support staff, including physiotherapists and sports medicine experts.

The review is likely to focus on player workload management, injury prevention, rehabilitation processes, and decisions regarding players returning to competitive cricket after recovering from injuries.

Sources suggest that increasing competition for places in the national team has encouraged players to push themselves physically, placing additional responsibility on the support staff to monitor workloads and identify injury risks before they become serious.

Cricket experts believe better workload management and timely medical intervention could help reduce recurring injuries among key players.

Sri Lanka Test Series Begins on August 15

India will begin its two-match Test series against Sri Lanka on August 15 at the Galle International Stadium. The second Test is scheduled to be played in Colombo from August 23.

The series is considered crucial for India's campaign in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC).

India remains in contention for a place in the World Test Championship Final but needs strong performances in the remaining Test matches.
