A major scare was reported at a private hospital in Maharashtra’s Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar early Friday morning when a hospital fire broke out inside the neonatal intensive care unit. The incident occurred at Asian Hospital in the Jalna Road area, creating panic among patients, relatives and medical staff. Nine newborn babies who were receiving intensive or specialised treatment inside the NICU were among those evacuated. Hospital staff noticed smoke emerging from an air-conditioning unit and immediately began emergency evacuation procedures. Firefighters and police teams were also called to the hospital, helping staff move patients to safer locations. Reports said all 58 patients in the affected area were safely evacuated, with no casualties reported.
