Speeding School Bus Kills Three Family Members in UP's Sultanpur

A tragic Sultanpur accident claimed the lives of three members of the same family on Tuesday morning after a speeding school bus collided with their motorcycle on the Akhandnagar-Kadipur road in Uttar Pradesh. The victims were travelling together when the collision occurred at around 7:30 am near a village in the area. Police identified the deceased as 23-year-old Pradeep Gupta, his father Ramlout, 45, and his mother Durgawati, 41. All three were residents of Mishripur Jalalpur Alipur under the Akhandnagar police station area.

Son Died at Spot, Parents Succumbed Later

The impact of the school bus accident was severe. Pradeep Gupta died at the scene, while his parents sustained serious injuries. Local assistance was provided following the crash, and the injured couple was rushed to the Akhandnagar Community Health Centre for emergency treatment. Considering the seriousness of their condition, doctors later referred them to a hospital in Ambedkar Nagar. Despite receiving treatment, both parents eventually died from their injuries.

Bus Driver Reportedly Fled

Police said the bus driver left the location shortly after the collision. The vehicle was also taken away from the accident site. Kadipur Circle Officer Vinay Gautam said efforts were underway to locate the driver. A case has been registered in connection with the incident, while investigators are working to establish the circumstances surrounding the crash. The incident has once again highlighted concerns surrounding road safety, speeding vehicles and the need for greater caution around busy village roads.

Police Begin Investigation

The Uttar Pradesh road accident is being investigated by local police. Officials have sent the bodies for post-mortem examination as part of the legal procedure. Investigators are expected to examine the accident location, gather information from witnesses and establish how the collision took place. Police will also work to determine the circumstances in which the bus was being driven at the time of the crash. The identity and whereabouts of the school bus driver are also a key part of the ongoing investigation.

Family Loses Three Members in Hours

The incident has left the victim's family facing a devastating loss. What began as a routine motorcycle journey turned into a fatal tragedy within a short period. Pradeep lost his life immediately after the collision, while his parents were taken for medical treatment in an attempt to save them. Their deaths during treatment meant that all three members travelling together on the motorcycle were ultimately lost. The three family members killed in the incident were from the same residential area under Akhandnagar police station.

Bodies Sent for Post-Mortem

Police have completed the necessary initial procedures and sent the bodies for post-mortem examination. The examination will form part of the official investigation and help authorities document the cause of death. Further legal action will depend on the findings of the investigation and the evidence collected by police. Officials are continuing efforts to trace the driver who allegedly left the scene after the crash.

Investigation Continues

Police are now focusing on reconstructing the sequence of events that led to the collision. Statements from people who may have witnessed the crash could help investigators understand how the motorcycle and bus came into contact. Officials may also examine the condition of the vehicles and other available evidence connected with the accident. The case remains under investigation, and further details are expected as police make progress in locating the driver and determining responsibility.
