The Union Cabinet has approved five major railway multi-tracking projects with a combined investment of Rs 10,021 crore. • Arakkonam–Renigunta third and fourth lines covering 77 kilometres

• Whitefield–Bangarapet third and fourth lines covering 47 kilometres

• Hosur–Omalur doubling covering 147 kilometres

• Salem–Karur–Dindigul doubling covering 159 kilometres

• Secunderabad–Ghatkesar–Kazipet multi-tracking work covering 110 kilometres
