Union Home Minister Amit Shah flagged off a bike rally from Vadnagar in Gujarat to Varanasi on September 17, marking Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 76th birthday. The event is part of the month-long Seva Sankalp Abhiyan and focuses on Modi’s 25 years in public life.

Vadnagar is Modi’s birthplace. Shah said he visited the town on the Prime Minister’s birthday and offered prayers at the Hatkeshwar Mahadev Temple before the rally began.

600 Bikers to Take Part in Twin Rallies

According to Shah, 600 bikers are taking part in the two-way programme. Around 300 bikers are starting from Vadnagar, while another 300 are starting from Varanasi.

The journeys are planned to pass through seven states and several villages. The Vadnagar-Varanasi and Varanasi-Vadnagar bike yatras began on September 17 and are scheduled to conclude on October 7.

The date is significant for the organisers because October 7 marks 25 years since Modi became Chief Minister of Gujarat.

Shah Highlights Modi’s Public Life

Speaking at the event, Shah highlighted Modi’s 25 years in public life and described his political journey as a period of continuous public service.

Shah said Modi had worked for long hours and had remained focused on public service. He also urged young people to contribute to the goal of building a developed India by 2047.

Shah referred to the idea of “India First” and connected the bike rally with the wider Seva Sankalp Abhiyan.

Welfare Schemes Mentioned in Shah’s Address

Shah also listed several welfare measures implemented under the Modi government. He said government programmes had helped provide housing, electricity, tap-water connections, foodgrains, health coverage, toilets and cooking-gas connections to millions of people.

Shah also claimed that 25 crore people had moved out of poverty during Modi’s tenure. These figures were presented by Shah during his address and represent the government’s assessment of its welfare programmes.

National Security and Governance

Shah also spoke about national security, governance, economic reforms and efforts to address corruption and irregularities.

He said the government had focused on areas including national security, economic development and self-reliance. Shah also referred to Modi’s use of the term “Pradhan Sevak” while speaking about his approach to public office.

Seva Sankalp Abhiyan Across India

The bike rally is part of a wider programme of public outreach and service activities being organised around Modi’s birthday.

Modi, who turned 76 on September 17, also thanked people for their birthday wishes. In a message shared through the Prime Minister’s Office, he said the blessings he received strengthened his resolve to serve the country.

Vadnagar to Varanasi Route

The Vadnagar-Varanasi journey connects Modi’s birthplace in Gujarat with Varanasi, the parliamentary constituency he has represented. The organisers said the rally will travel through multiple states and villages as part of the campaign marking his years in public life.
