Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Says Maiden T20I Fifty Has Boosted His Confidence

India's teenage batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi said his maiden T20 International half-century has given him greater confidence after helping India secure a convincing victory over Zimbabwe in the opening match of the three-match series.

The 15-year-old opener smashed 50 runs off just 19 balls, leading India's successful chase of 126 with 40 balls to spare and giving the visitors a 1-0 lead in the series.

Harare Continues to Bring Success

Harare has become a memorable venue for Sooryavanshi.

Earlier this year, the young batter scored a remarkable 175 off 80 balls in the ICC Under-19 World Cup final against England at the same Harare Sports Club, helping India lift the title.

Reflecting on his latest performance, Sooryavanshi said he enjoys playing at the venue but is focused on contributing consistently wherever he plays.

"I love the vibe here. There are certain grounds where you enjoy batting, but I'm not taking anything for granted. My aim is to give my best and contribute to the team," he said.

Half-Century Ends Difficult Start

Sooryavanshi became the youngest player to represent India in T20 Internationals earlier this year but found runs difficult to come by during the series against England.

He said his first international half-century has strengthened his belief ahead of the remaining matches.

"If you can play this kind of innings early in your career, it gives you confidence for the next match. I felt I was in my zone and backed my strengths," he said.

Mayank Yadav Makes Successful Return

Fast bowler Mayank Yadav also impressed on his return to international cricket after recovering from multiple injuries.

The 24-year-old claimed 2 wickets for 18 runs in his four-over spell, helping restrict Zimbabwe to 125 for 7.

Named Player of the Match, Mayank admitted the injury setbacks had been challenging but said representing India remained his biggest motivation.

"It was difficult to stay motivated, but the dream of playing for India always kept me going. I wanted to come back and perform well," he said.

India Off to Strong Start

India's comprehensive victory has put the visitors in a strong position in the three-match T20I series.

The performances of Sooryavanshi and Mayank Yadav have provided positive signs for the Indian team as they look to seal the series in the upcoming matches.
