PM Modi to Visit Rajasthan and Gujarat Today, Launch ₹1.06 Lakh Crore Development Projects

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Rajasthan and Gujarat on Saturday to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for major infrastructure and development projects worth around ₹1.06 lakh crore. The projects span key sectors, including aviation, urban transport, energy and semiconductors, and are aimed at strengthening connectivity, industrial growth and technological advancement.

PM Modi to Inaugurate Jodhpur Airport's New Terminal

The Prime Minister will begin his visit in Rajasthan by inaugurating the new terminal building at Jodhpur Airport at around 10:45 a.m. He will also launch the revised aviation scheme before travelling to Balotra later in the day.

At around 12 noon, PM Modi will inaugurate, dedicate and lay the foundation stone for development projects worth nearly ₹1.06 lakh crore. He is also scheduled to address a public gathering during the event.

Foundation Stone for Jaipur Metro Phase 2

During the programme at Pachpadra in Balotra district, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for Jaipur Metro Phase 2 while attending the inauguration ceremony of the Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) Refinery.

The metro expansion project is expected to improve connectivity between Jaipur's industrial, commercial and residential areas while strengthening the city's public transport network.

41-km Metro Corridor to Boost Urban Connectivity

Jaipur Metro Phase 2 will be developed at an estimated cost of ₹13,037 crore. The project includes a 41-kilometre North-South corridor connecting Prahladpura to Todi Mod.

The corridor will provide seamless metro connectivity to major locations, including Sitapura Industrial Area, Vishwakarma Industrial Area (VKIA), Jaipur International Airport, Tonk Road, Sawai Man Singh Hospital, Sawai Man Singh Stadium, Collectorate, Jaipur Railway Station, Ambabari, and Vidyadhar Nagar.

The new phase will include 36 metro stations and will be implemented by the Rajasthan Metro Rail Corporation Limited (RMRCL), a joint venture between the Central Government and the Rajasthan Government.

PM Modi to Inaugurate Semiconductor Facility in Gujarat

After completing his Rajasthan engagements, the Prime Minister will travel to Sanand, Gujarat, where he is scheduled to inaugurate the CG Semi Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) facility at around 4:30 p.m.

The facility is among India's first semiconductor assembly and testing centres developed under the India Semiconductor Mission and will mark the beginning of commercial production.

PM Modi will also address a public meeting following the inauguration.

₹7,500 Crore Investment Under India Semiconductor Mission

According to the Prime Minister's Office, the CG Semi OSAT facility has been developed with an investment of more than ₹7,500 crore.

The plant will provide a complete range of semiconductor assembly and testing services, including wafer sorting, chip assembly, testing, package design, failure analysis, product characterisation, testing programme development and logistics support.

The project is among the first four semiconductor initiatives approved under the India Semiconductor Mission, which aims to build a robust semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem in the country.

Focus on Infrastructure and Technology Growth

The Prime Minister's visit highlights the Centre's focus on expanding infrastructure, improving urban mobility and strengthening India's semiconductor manufacturing capabilities.

The projects are expected to boost economic activity, create employment opportunities and support India's long-term vision of becoming a global manufacturing and technology hub.
