Delhi Court Extends Judicial Custody of 13 Accused in NEET-UG 2026 Paper Leak Case

A Delhi court has extended the judicial custody of 13 accused arrested in connection with the alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak case. The decision came after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) informed the court that the investigation remains at a crucial stage and additional arrests are likely.

The accused were produced before the Rouse Avenue Court through video conferencing after the expiry of their previous judicial custody.

CBI Says Investigation Is Still Underway

During the hearing, the CBI told the court that it is continuing efforts to identify other individuals allegedly linked to the examination paper leak.

The agency also stated that investigators are examining financial transactions believed to be connected to the case and are working to uncover the complete network behind the alleged leak.

According to the CBI, further arrests may be made as the investigation progresses.

Bail Pleas Filed by Two Accused

Two of the accused have approached the court seeking bail.

One bail application has been filed by Shivraj Raghunath Motegaonkar, while another has been submitted by Dr. Manoj Shirure. The court has sought the CBI's response, and both applications are scheduled for separate hearings.

Earlier, the court had rejected the bail plea of another accused, observing that the investigation was still ongoing.

Probe Focuses on Alleged Leak Network

Investigators are examining the role of intermediaries, beneficiaries, and other individuals suspected of involvement in the alleged examination leak.

The CBI is also tracing financial transactions to determine whether money trails are connected to the operation of the alleged paper leak network.

NEET-UG Re-Exam Conducted

The NEET-UG 2026 re-examination was conducted after the original examination was cancelled following allegations of a paper leak.

Authorities are expected to announce the re-exam results through the official NEET portal once the evaluation process is completed.
