BJP to Launch Seva Pakhwada From September 17 to Mark PM Modi’s 25 Years in Office

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will organise ‘Seva Pakhwada’ from September 17 to October 2 to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years in constitutional public office, party officials said on Saturday.

The campaign will focus on public service, welfare activities and outreach programmes, including sanitation drives, blood donation camps and health camps.

The decision was taken during the first meeting of the BJP’s new national team, chaired by party president Nitin Nabin.

Welfare Activities to Lead Campaign

Party programmes during the campaign will highlight welfare initiatives and schemes introduced during Modi’s tenure.

The Prime Minister began his tenure in constitutional public office as Gujarat chief minister in 2001 and has served as prime minister since 2014.

BJP national general secretary Vinod Tawde has been appointed convener of a seven-member team responsible for preparing the campaign plan.

State-level teams will also be established to coordinate activities. Each team is expected to include a minister, an organisational general secretary and five senior party leaders.

Focus on Governance and Youth

The BJP will organise intellectual conferences and seminars during the campaign focusing on good governance, development and Antyodaya, which refers to the upliftment of marginalised sections of society.

Interactive programmes with young people will also form part of the campaign as the party seeks to strengthen its engagement with younger voters.

A separate team involving Nitin Nabin, Vinod Tawde, Smriti Irani, Gujarat minister Harsh Sanghavi and Chhattisgarh minister OP Choudhary, among others, will work on outreach to Gen Z.

Two-Week Service Campaign

Seva Pakhwada is scheduled to run from September 17 through October 2, covering a range of public service and organisational activities.

The campaign is expected to combine welfare initiatives at the grassroots level with discussions on development and governance.

BJP leaders will coordinate the programmes across states, with local units expected to organise activities based on regional requirements.

The party has positioned the campaign as an opportunity to highlight public welfare initiatives while expanding engagement with communities, youth and different sections of society.
