The state of Uttarakhand is grieving after the passing of its former Chief Minister Major General (Retd.) Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri. He was 91 years old and died after a long illness in Dehradun. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed deep sorrow over the loss and personally took part in the final journey of the veteran leader. He attended the funeral procession and later reached Haridwar, where the last rites were performed with full state honors. B.C. Khanduri was not only a political leader but also a respected former army officer. Before entering politics, he served in the Indian Army and reached the rank of Major General. Later, he joined public life and became one of the most recognized leaders in Uttarakhand politics. He served twice as Chief Minister of the state and was also known for his role as a Union minister in charge of road transport and highways.

Many people remember him for his efforts to improve governance and infrastructure in Uttarakhand and across India.
