Siya Goyal Allegedly Flashes Obscene Gesture While Under Police Escort in Ketan Agarwal Murder Case

Prime accused Siya Goyal allegedly made an obscene gesture toward media personnel while being escorted by Pune Rural Police during the investigation into the Ketan Agarwal murder case. The incident occurred when officers took the 20-year-old accused to her residence in Pune as part of the ongoing probe. A video of the moment has since surfaced online and is being widely shared on social media.

Siya Goyal Allegedly Flashes Middle Finger at Media

On July 2, Pune Rural Police escorted Siya Goyal to her residence in Lulla Nagar, Pune, to carry out investigative procedures related to the case. As she exited the house under police escort, she allegedly flashed her middle finger at journalists waiting outside.

At the time, Goyal had covered her face with a printed scarf and was wearing a black T-shirt. The brief incident was captured on camera and quickly went viral across social media platforms. While the video has sparked widespread reactions, Pune Rural Police have not issued an official statement regarding the alleged gesture.

Police Visit Alleged Rehearsal Spot

As part of the investigation, police also took Siya Goyal to a location near a club in Lulla Nagar, where investigators believe she and co-accused Chetan Chaudhary allegedly rehearsed how they would push Ketan Agarwal off a cliff before the crime.

According to a Pune Rural Police official, Goyal identified the location during the visit. Investigators believe the alleged rehearsal took place in May and are attempting to establish a detailed timeline through witness statements, forensic findings, and digital evidence.

Police say the visit was conducted to verify the sequence of events and strengthen the evidence collected during the investigation.

Police Seek Polygraph Test for Both Accused

Pune Rural Police have approached the Vadgaon Maval Court seeking permission to conduct polygraph (lie detector) tests on Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary.

Officials said the court will first issue notices to both accused and obtain their voluntary consent before deciding whether the tests can be conducted. Under Indian law, a polygraph examination cannot be carried out without both court approval and the consent of the accused.

Investigators believe the tests could help clarify certain aspects of the ongoing investigation.

Clothes and Digital Evidence Recovered

During a search of Goyal's residence in Pune's Market Yard area, investigators recovered clothes that she allegedly wore on June 18, the day Ketan Agarwal died.

Police have also collected a substantial amount of technical and digital evidence, including electronic records and mobile phone data. Officials said the material is currently being analysed and cross-verified to reconstruct the sequence of events leading to the alleged murder.

What Is the Ketan Agarwal Murder Case?

According to investigators, Siya Goyal (20) and Chetan Chaudhary (22) are accused of murdering 25-year-old realtor Ketan Agarwal by allegedly pushing him off a cliff at Lohagad Fort in Pune district on June 18, 2026.

Ketan Agarwal and Siya Goyal were engaged and were reportedly scheduled to marry in November 2026. Police allege that Agarwal had become an obstacle to the relationship between Goyal and Chaudhary, leading the two accused to allegedly conspire to kill him.

Both accused were arrested after the incident and remain in police custody while the investigation continues.

Crime Scene Reconstruction Conducted

Pune Rural Police have conducted multiple crime scene reconstruction exercises as part of the investigation.

Earlier this week, investigators recreated the alleged sequence of events with co-accused Chetan Chaudhary. A similar reconstruction had previously been carried out with Siya Goyal, during which police used a dummy to recreate how Ketan Agarwal was allegedly pushed from the cliff.

Officials say these exercises are intended to verify statements made by the accused and compare them with forensic evidence collected from the crime scene.

Father Had Raised Concerns Before the Incident

According to the complaint filed by Vishal Agarwal, the victim's father, Ketan Agarwal had previously expressed concern about Siya Goyal's growing closeness to Chetan Chaudhary.

Police also claim that Goyal had earlier cancelled the couple's planned pre-wedding trip to Bali, Indonesia, and frequently mentioned Chaudhary during conversations with Ketan. Investigators are examining these details as part of the alleged motive behind the crime.

Investigation Continues

Police continue to analyse forensic evidence, digital records, witness statements, and other material collected during the investigation. The allegations against Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary will ultimately be examined in court, where both accused are presumed innocent unless proven guilty according to law.
