PM Modi Hails Armed Forces on Operation Sindoor Anniversary, Reaffirms India’s Anti-Terror Resolve

Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the Indian Armed Forces on the first anniversary of Operation Sindoor and said the military operation reflected India’s strong and firm stand against terrorism. The Prime Minister also repeated the country’s commitment to protecting national security and defeating terror networks that threaten innocent lives.

Operation Sindoor was launched on May 7, 2025, after the deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, where 26 civilians lost their lives. The attack shocked the nation and created strong public anger. In response, Indian security forces carried out coordinated strikes on terror camps and infrastructure located across the border in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

On the anniversary of the operation, Prime Minister Modi said the mission showed India’s determination to respond strongly against terrorism. He described the operation as a “fitting response” to those who attacked innocent Indians and praised the courage, precision, and resolve shown by the armed forces during the mission.

The Prime Minister stated that India remains fully committed to defeating terrorism and destroying the systems that support extremist violence. His message reflected the government’s continued focus on national security and counter-terror operations.

To mark the anniversary, PM Modi also changed his social media profile picture to an Operation Sindoor tribute image. Several senior ministers, including External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, also updated their profile pictures as a symbolic gesture honoring the armed forces and remembering the operation.

Operation Sindoor has become one of the most talked-about military operations in recent years. According to defence reports, Indian forces targeted several terror locations linked to extremist organizations accused of planning attacks against India. Officials said the mission involved strong coordination between the Army, Air Force, intelligence agencies, and advanced defence systems.

The operation also highlighted India’s growing military modernization and technological capabilities. Defence experts believe the mission demonstrated better coordination among the armed forces, increased use of precision weapons, electronic warfare systems, drones, and modern surveillance technologies.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also praised the armed forces during anniversary events linked to Operation Sindoor. He described the mission as a “golden chapter” in India’s military history and said the operation reflected the government’s policy of taking decisive action against terrorism.

Rajnath Singh stated that India voluntarily paused the operation on its own terms and was fully prepared for a longer conflict if necessary. He also described Pakistan as an “epicentre of international terrorism” while calling for stronger global efforts against terror groups.

Many military analysts believe Operation Sindoor changed India’s strategic approach toward national security. Instead of limiting responses to diplomatic protests, India demonstrated that it is willing to take direct military action when facing terror threats. The operation also strengthened public confidence in the armed forces and increased discussions about defence readiness across the country.

At the same time, the operation also increased tensions between India and Pakistan. Relations between the two neighboring countries remain difficult because of long-standing disputes related to terrorism, border security, and Kashmir. The operation became part of a larger period of military and diplomatic tension between both countries during 2025.

Supporters of the operation argue that strong military action is necessary to prevent future terror attacks and protect civilians. They believe India’s response sent a clear message that attacks against innocent citizens will not go unanswered. Critics, however, continue to warn that military escalation between two nuclear-armed countries can increase risks for regional peace and stability.

The anniversary of Operation Sindoor is therefore not only about remembering a military operation. It also reflects India’s broader focus on defence preparedness, national unity, and the fight against terrorism. For many citizens, the operation became a symbol of national strength and sacrifice.

One year later, Operation Sindoor continues to hold emotional, political, and strategic importance in India. The anniversary celebrations and tribute messages from national leaders show how strongly the operation remains connected to India’s national security narrative and its continuing stand against terrorism.
