Delhi Court Extends Judicial Custody of 10 Accused in NEET-UG Paper Leak Case Till July 11

Delhi court has extended the judicial custody of ten accused in the NEET-UG paper leak case until July 11 as the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) continues its probe into the alleged examination leak.

The order was passed by the Rouse Avenue Court after the accused were produced through video conferencing following the completion of their earlier custody period. The investigation remains ongoing as officials work to uncover the full extent of the alleged paper leak network.

Who Are the Accused?

The court extended the judicial custody of the following accused:

Yash Yadav
Mangilal Biwal
Dinesh Biwal
Vikas Biwal
Dhananjay Lokhande
Tejas Harshad Shah
Shubham Khairnar
Manisha Waghmare
Manisha Havaldar
Dr. Manoj Shirure

All ten remain under judicial custody while investigators continue gathering evidence.

CBI Alleges a Paper Leak Network

According to the CBI, the investigation has revealed an alleged chain through which the examination paper was leaked and circulated.

Investigators claim that Shubham Khairnar first shared the question paper with Yash Yadav, who allegedly passed it to Mangilal Biwal.

The agency alleges that Mangilal later arranged access to the leaked paper for Vikas Biwal through intermediaries. Officials also claim that copies of the examination paper were recovered from Mangilal's mobile phone during the investigation.

The CBI further alleges that Mangilal obtained the paper for โ‚น10 lakh before allegedly selling it to multiple candidates for approximately โ‚น12 lakh each.

The investigation also suggests that the paper was later circulated to Vikas Biwal and Dinesh Biwal, completing the alleged distribution chain.

Earlier Court Decisions

The case has witnessed several important court proceedings over recent weeks.

Earlier this month, the court rejected the bail application of Manisha Waghmare, allowing the investigation to continue.

At the same time, accused Yash Yadav was permitted to appear for the NEET-UG re-examination conducted on June 21 and was also allowed temporary permission to attend his sister's wedding while remaining in judicial custody.

Investigation Continues

Officials say investigators are examining financial transactions, communication records, and digital evidence to identify everyone who may have been involved in the alleged examination leak.

The CBI is also working to determine whether additional individuals were connected to the alleged network.

Authorities have stated that the investigation remains active and further developments are expected as evidence is reviewed.

NEET Re-Exam Result Expected Soon

The NEET-UG re-examination was conducted on June 21, 2026, for nearly 23 lakh candidates.

According to previous examination trends, the re-exam result is expected to be announced by the end of July 2026.

Candidates will be able to check their scorecards through the official NEET website once the National Testing Agency (NTA) releases the results.

Impact on Students

The alleged paper leak has raised serious concerns about transparency and fairness in one of India's largest medical entrance examinations.

Lakhs of students preparing for medical admissions have been closely following the investigation while awaiting the final examination results.

The case has also renewed discussions on strengthening examination security, digital monitoring, and measures to prevent future paper leaks.
