Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann Visits Sangrur, Launches Development Projects Worth Crores

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann visited Sangrur district to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for several development projects aimed at improving sports infrastructure, easing traffic congestion, promoting religious heritage, and strengthening public services.

The visit includes projects in Sangrur, Dhuri, and Barnala, with investments worth several crores of rupees focused on infrastructure, public welfare, and community development.

Modern Swimming Pool Inaugurated in Sangrur

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann inaugurated a state-of-the-art swimming pool at the historic Banasar Bagh in Sangrur.

Built at a cost of approximately โ‚น9.5 crore, the facility has been designed to meet national-level sports standards and will provide advanced training opportunities for swimmers from Sangrur and nearby districts.

The project is expected to encourage sports participation and help develop young athletes in Punjab.

โ‚น54.76 Crore Railway Overbridge for Dhuri

During his visit, the Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone for a Railway Overbridge (ROB) in Dhuri, a long-pending infrastructure project worth โ‚น54.76 crore.

The overbridge is expected to:

  • Reduce traffic congestion at railway crossings.
  • Improve movement of emergency vehicles.
  • Save travel time and fuel.
  • Enhance road safety.
  • Support local trade and business activities.

Residents had been demanding the project for several years.

50 Mobile Vans to Promote Guru Ravidas Ji’s Teachings

As part of the celebrations marking the 650th Parkash Purb of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji, Bhagwant Mann flagged off 50 documentary mobile vans.

The vans will travel across Punjab to spread awareness about the life, teachings, and philosophy of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji, while encouraging younger generations to learn about his social and spiritual message.

Lok Milni Programme in Barnala

Later in the day, the Chief Minister is scheduled to attend a Lok Milni (public interaction) programme in Mahal Kalan village of Barnala district.

The programme will allow citizens to directly present their grievances before the Chief Minister, with officials from multiple government departments present to address complaints and resolve issues on the spot.

Focus on Infrastructure and Public Welfare

The Sangrur visit reflects the Punjab government's focus on improving infrastructure, promoting sports, preserving cultural heritage, and strengthening citizen engagement through direct public interaction.

Officials believe these projects will contribute to long-term regional development and improve public services across Sangrur and surrounding areas.
