Chennai Woman’s Death Probe Leads Police to Odisha After Body Parts Found on Train

Chennai woman Hidayath Nisha’s death investigation has taken a major turn after decomposed human remains were discovered inside a red trolley bag on the Tamil Nadu Express, leading investigators from Agra to Chennai and now to Odisha.

The remains were found in the general compartment of the train at Agra Cantonment Railway Station on August 5. The discovery prompted an investigation by Agra Railway Police with assistance from Government Railway Police officials in Chennai.

Victim Identified as Hidayath Nisha

The deceased was identified as 38-year-old Hidayath Nisha, a woman from Odisha who had been working in Chennai.

Nisha was reportedly living in Guduvancherry, on the outskirts of Chennai, with the two people now being sought by investigators.

Her son had filed a missing-person complaint after she disappeared. The complaint became an important lead as investigators worked to establish the identity of the remains found on the train.

CCTV Footage Provides Key Clue

CCTV footage from Chennai Central Railway Station helped investigators trace the movements of two suspects.

The footage reportedly showed a man and a woman carrying a red trolley bag similar to the one later found at Agra Cantonment Railway Station.

Both suspects were seen boarding the Tamil Nadu Express at Chennai Central on August 3, two days before the decomposed remains were discovered in Agra.

More Body Parts Found in Guduvancherry

Further investigation led authorities to the residence where the suspects had been staying in Guduvancherry.

During a search of the house, additional body parts belonging to the deceased were reportedly recovered from inside a large container.

The discovery provided investigators with another significant piece of evidence and raised questions about what happened inside the Chennai residence before the remains were transported by train.

Suspects Flee Toward Odisha

The man and woman identified during the investigation are currently absconding.

Three special teams have been formed to locate and arrest them. Officials from Guduvancherry Police are part of the teams that have travelled to Odisha in search of the suspects.

Investigators reportedly traced signals from their smartphones, which indicated their possible movement toward Odisha.

Investigation Spans Multiple States

The case now involves investigators working across Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh and Odisha.

Evidence from the Agra railway station, CCTV footage from Chennai Central, the missing-person complaint and material recovered from the Guduvancherry residence are being examined to reconstruct the sequence of events.

Investigators are also working to establish how the remains were transported from Chennai to Agra and who was responsible for the woman’s death.

Motive Remains Under Investigation

The exact circumstances surrounding Nisha’s death and the motive behind the suspected killing have not yet been established.

Investigators are expected to examine the relationship between Nisha and the two suspects as part of the inquiry.

Their arrest and questioning could provide crucial information about the events leading to her death and the subsequent disposal of her remains.

Search Operation Continues in Odisha

Special teams continue to search for the absconding suspects in Odisha.

The investigation, which began after a red trolley bag containing decomposed remains was found on a train in Agra, has now led authorities to a residence in Chennai and subsequently to Odisha.

Further forensic evidence and the arrest of the suspects are expected to help investigators establish the complete sequence of events.
