Seven people were killed and six others injured after a private bus collided with an auto-rickshaw near Kala Mandir Junction in Chilakaluripet, Palnadu district, Andhra Pradesh.

The accident occurred during the early hours when the bus was travelling towards Narasaraopet after stopping near the bypass to pick up a passenger.

Bus Collides With Auto-Rickshaw Near Chilakaluripet

According to police, the private bus was travelling towards Tirupati before reaching the bypass near Chilakaluripet.

After picking up a passenger, the bus continued towards the Narasaraopet bus stand. It later collided with an auto-rickshaw near Kala Mandir Junction.

Police said the auto-rickshaw moved onto the wrong side of the road and entered the path of the approaching bus.

The bus was travelling at around 40 kmph when the collision occurred, according to the Narasaraopet Deputy Superintendent of Police.

Four People Die at the Spot

The collision resulted in multiple casualties.

Police said four people died at the scene because of the impact. Three other injured victims later succumbed to their injuries while receiving treatment at a hospital.

Six people were injured in the accident and were taken for medical treatment.

Officials said the victims belonged to Veluru village in Chilakaluripet mandal, making the incident particularly distressing for the local community.

Injured Shifted to Guntur Hospital

People who sustained serious injuries were shifted to Guntur General Hospital for treatment.

Authorities are monitoring the condition of those injured and ensuring that they receive medical care.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu directed officials to provide the best possible treatment to the injured and keep a close watch on their health.

CM Naidu Expresses Grief

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu expressed shock and grief over the loss of lives in the accident.

He instructed officials to ensure that the injured receive appropriate medical attention and that their condition is continuously monitored.

The Chief Minister also sought details from officials regarding the accident and the casualties.

Case Registered Over Accident

Police have registered a case in connection with the incident.

The case relates to causing death through rash or negligent driving. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and examining how the auto-rickshaw entered the path of the bus.

Further investigation will determine the exact sequence of events that led to the fatal crash.

Jagan Mohan Reddy Condoles Deaths

YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy also expressed grief over the deaths.

He described the loss of lives as heartbreaking and said the tragedy was particularly painful because all the victims were from the same village.

Reddy urged authorities to ensure immediate and proper medical treatment for those who survived the collision.

Road Safety Concerns in Andhra Pradesh

The accident has once again highlighted concerns over road safety and the risks associated with high-speed traffic on busy roads.
